Important Current Affairs Today for TNPSC

1. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya, hailed as the architect of India's rise as the game's financial superpower, passed away in a private hospital in Kolkata on Sunday. Dalmiya, who had also served as president of the Interna tional Cricket Council.

2. In a spectacular rebuff to India, Nepal on Sunday promulgated a constitution despite India's pleas to postpone it until it could be more acceptable to a greater number of people.

3. Uttar Pradesh and Telangana account for the highest number of road deaths due to snow and snow-affected road conditions, while the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand reports no such death

4. National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report: Maharashtra tops in number of women arrested for murder (Last year 579 women were arrested for murder in Maharashtra).According to the NCRB report, 1,94,867 women were arrested across 36 states and UTs, of which 30,568 were from Maharashtra. The latter figure is nearly double that of Uttar Pradesh (17,437). Rajasthan (16,187), Gujarat (14,152) and West Bengal (12,181).

5. France's famous Eiffel Tower, one of the world's most visited attractions, was closed on Sunday after a man carrying a rucksack was seen climbing the tower sparking a scare.
