1. Chief Justice of India H L Dattu said `lawlessness' among a section of advocates in the Madras high court had made judges experience `fear psychosis' in court rooms.

2. Personal chats on social media as well as popular instant messengers like WhatsApp, Viber and Facebook Messenger may not remain as private as you would like them to be, if a government committee gets its way . You may need to keep records of personal conversations made over the last 90 days and furnish them as and when demanded by law enforcement agencies, a move that cyber experts say completely violates an individual's right to privacy.

3. At least 250 instal lations, including malls places of worship, hotels and high-rise buildings, in Chennai city are vulnerable to terror attack, the Tamil Nadu commando force has found.

4. NASA has teamed up with a Brooklyn-based company to create the first ever space shotgun that will test the strength of asteroids and other space rocks to determine if they are sturdy enough for sampling. The gun, being developed by Honeybee Robotics based in Brooklyn Navy Yard, is to be used as part of NASA's asteroid redirect mission.

5. India is now the world's third largest diamond consumer behind US (42%) and China (16%), the latest Diamond Insight report by global major De Beers showed.
